CS-AP
Certification Standard

The CS-AP certification signifies that the holder has demonstrated the professional competence required to plan, execute, and report on sustainability assurance engagements under ISSA 5000. The certification is awarded only where a candidate meets a defined standard of applied knowledge, professional judgement, and methodological reasoning appropriate to ISSA 5000 assurance scenarios. The credential reflects performance against a rigorous, examiner-set assessment as at the date of award. It indicates capability to apply ISSA 5000 requirements to novel engagement circumstances, evaluate evidence under uncertainty, and justify assurance conclusions in regulatory or review settings.
ASSESMENT FORMAT

A written examination comprising multiple components

The certification assessment is designed to test professional judgement under realistic conditions. It is administered online, is not proctored, and candidates may access reference materials during the assessment. The assessment is designed assuming such access; questions cannot be answered through simple lookup.

ASSESSMENT DESIGN

Designed to resist rote memorisation

The assessment includes knowledge verification across all programme domains, applied judgement scenarios requiring reasoned analysis, evidence evaluation exercises, and conclusion formation under ambiguous conditions.

Questions require application of ISSA 5000 principles to novel circumstances, not recall of prescribed answers. The assessment is designed to distinguish practitioners who understand the standard's methodology from those who have only memorised its text.

Candidates who do not pass may reattempt the assessment. Reattempt conditions and fees are specified in the Terms and Conditions. There is no appeal process for assessment results. The assessment is designed and marked to professional examination standards; marking decisions are final.

ASSESSMENT DESIGN
